Career History

Anita qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1997 at Leicester University.

Initially Anita worked in the field of physical disability before spending time working in a children’s hospital in Romania. Since 2000 she has specialised in the field of Acquired Brain Injury, working both in residential rehab and in the community at a senior level.

Current Work

Alongside case management, Anita works as an independent occupational therapist for people with acquired brain injury and writes medico-legal rehabilitation and care cost reports. She particularly enjoys working with clients who experience cognitive and behaviour difficulties and has a very practical, goal orientated approach.

Key Skills

• Extensive experience of working with clients with minor to severe head injury.
• Training and supervision of support workers.
• Skilled at communicating with both clients and their relatives.
• Wide experience of working with challenging and non-compliant clients.
• Assessment and rehabilitation of cognitive difficulties following acquired brain injury, including so called “hidden injuries”.
• Experience in both private and statutory sectors and a good knowledge of Health and Social Services.
