Career History

Tom began case management in 2005 and has committed his time to it since, with clients based in the South West of England and South Wales. He has gained numerous skills as a sole practitioner working with complex and challenging cases. Combined with his background experience in the Health Service, these skills have developed him as a confident practitioner who works effectively and efficiently.

Tom has experience of writing medico legal reports and associated work, having been a rehabilitation cost consultant for Jacqueline Webb & Co. from August 2006 until March 2008.

Tom qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1998, and worked in the NHS until 2006 specialising in mental health work. He gained experience working with children and adults, with individuals and families/carers. He developed further skills as a team leader, coordinating and managing a service as well as with complex psychological problems and associated difficulties e.g. addictions. Tom also acquired skills in cognitive behavioural therapy.

Current Work

Tom is currently case managing a caseload of settled and unsettled clients and is familiar with the needs of both. He is experienced in working on a 1:1 basis with individuals, with family members, solicitors/deputies, support workers, statutory and private organisations and has run rehabilitation programs requiring multi-agency working. He has a good working experience of the issues affecting both him and his clients that include The Mental Capacity Act 2005 and risk assessment and risk management.
