Becky Marlow MCSP
Past Career History
Becky qualified as a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapist from The University of Brighton in 1997. She went onto Post Graduate Training including courses relating to Spinal Injury/Neurology, Counselling Skills, Wheelchair Systems and Splinting. She has extensive experience working as a Physiotherapist within hospital environments and Rehabilitation Units starting as a Basic Grade Physiotherapist working her way up to Senior Physiotherapist within the Community and In-Patient Neurology. Her work has given her significant insight and skills in Physiotherapy and Neurological problems.
Current Work
As well as working as a Case Manager for clients predominately with spinal and brain injury, Becky currently works privately as a Physiotherapist within the community treating adults with physical disabilities (including spinal injury, brain injury and other neurological conditions).
Key Skills
- Physical management of clients with long term disabilities. Implementing programmes to prevent secondary complications (including referrals for appropriate medical/surgical or other therapeutic interventions).
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a holistic approach to patient care. Regular liaison with other professionals.
- Strong ability to motivate others. Extensive experience working with patients with a record of poor compliance /challenging behaviour.
- Clear & effective communication skills with extensive experience teaching carers, professionals, relatives & patients, adapting style of communication to meet clients needs.
- Experience of assisting and guiding clients through the transition to moving to adapted accommodation and working with architects and occupational therapist to ensure equipment and other needs are met.
