Caroline Harlow DipCST
Career History
Caroline Harlow qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1979, initially working with adults and children with developmental and acquired communication disorders such as stroke, brain injury and learning disability.
From 1987 Caroline worked in a rehabilitation unit for young adults with acquired brain injury as part of a multidisciplinary team. There she gained experience of advocacy and providing care packages enabling clients to be maintained successfully in their chosen environment.
Current Work
In addition to her case management work, Caroline also works as a consultant speech and language therapist at rehabilitation units for people with acquired brain injury in the South West, and has a small private caseload. She specialises in communication problems for people with higher-level cognitive problems, and has experience of working with clients in a minimally-aware state following acquired brain injury.

- Assessing and meeting the needs of people with acquired brain injury, including setting up back to work and volunteer placements and continuing support for clients and their families.
- Assessment and treatment of people with communication problems in their own homes, schools and specialist units.
