Claire Booth DipCOT (Director)
Past Career History
Claire Booth qualified as an occupational therapist in 1984. She worked for 18 months in psychiatry and general medicine before specialising in neurology in 1987.
Since 1987 her work has been predominantly with adolescents and adults who have sustained mild to severe brain injury.
Between 1991 and 1997 she worked for a private brain injury rehabilitation unit, initially as an occupational therapist, later taking responsibility for coordinating the therapy team.
In 1998 she assisted with setting standards and the philosophy of care for a brain injury rehabilitation unit.
Current Work
Claire has worked independently as a case manager since 1997, and formed Westcountry Case Management in 2001. She continues to carry her own case load. The service she provides includes:
- Coordination and setting of standards for case managers working for Westcountry Case Management.
- Case management for clients with complex needs.
- Training carers and support workers in all aspects of brain injury.
- Costing past and future care needs, rehabilitation and equipment for defendants and claimants in respect of compensation claims. She has assessed in excess of 200 adults and older children who have acquired brain injury.
