Past Career History
Jane has 30 years experience working as an Occupational Therapist with people with physical difficulties including children. She has worked for the Health Service, Social Services and as an Independent O.T. promoting independence in all aspects of daily living in a variety of home and community settings. She has experience of environmental adaptations, equipment provision, manual handling, risk assessment, workplace modifications, lifestyle modification and psychological adjustment to loss.
Jane also has 7 years setting up and managing new multi-professional teams in adult and children's services.
Current Work
Additional to working with Westcountry Case Management Ltd as a Case Manager, Jane is a self employed practitioner offering independent consultancy work with adults with physical disabilities, focusing on individual assessments at home, vocational rehabilitation / return to work, early intervention assessments and case management, (mainly Spinal Injury). She is experienced in issues relating to the employment of care & support staff for clients. Although her work is primarily with adults, she does some early intervention and case management work with children. She has also worked for CHI (the Commission for Health Improvement) reviewing the quality of NHS services.
