Suzi Rodd BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
Career History
Suzi has a wide range of experience in physical medicine, and specialist skills in paediatrics, neuro-rehabilitation and amputees, gained over 13 years working as an Occupational Therapist. She trained at Oxford Brookes University and qualified in 1995. She has experience in working with clients with a range of conditions within inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and community settings.
Current Work
As well as working as a Case Manager, Suzi also works as an Occupational Therapist in the Plymouth Wheelchair and Prosthetic service. Her role is to provide intervention, therapy programmes and provision of specialist wheelchairs / prosthetic limbs to those with a wide range of conditions. Suzi also works independently, compiling Medico–legal reports.
Key Skills
- Extensive experience in management of adults and children with a range of medical conditions.
- Extensive experience of working clinically in the field of rehabilitation following amputation and brain injury,
- Extensive experience working with those with complex postural difficulties and in the assessment and identification of equipment to support postural alignment over a 24 hour basis.
- Routinely uses a goal orientated approach to intervention
- Experience of implementing community based rehabilitation programmes, linking in with local services where possible
- Good problem solving skills
- Able to communicate with clients of all ages and from all walks of life with empathy and humour
