Denyse qualified in1986 and is a neurological occupational therapist who has a wide range of experience in physical medicine and neuro-rehabilitation, with extensive specialist skills in ABI.
Denyse has experience of working with clients with ABI both in hospital and community settings and has worked part-time as lead occupational therapist (job share) in the Bro Taf Community Brain Injury Team, providing assessment and intervention to adults with ABI.
As well as working as a case manager with WCM, Denyse works as an independent occupational therapist with adults with ABI in the south Wales area. She works with professionals in the independent and voluntary sectors as well as with statutory services. As case manager, Denyse has experience of recruiting, training and managing care teams, in line with CIW guidelines; Denyse works proactively, using a client centred approach to ensure each client fulfils their potential.
Denyse has extensive experience in the management of adults with ABI and of working clinically in the field of rehabilitation following brain injury. She has an ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet each client’s unique needs and is highly organised, with the ability to maintain an accurate overview of all factors affecting the clinical picture.
Denyse is proficient at implementing community based rehabilitation programmes, and the ability to communicate with adult clients of all ages and from all walks of life with empathy and humour.
