Sarah qualified in 2010 as an occupational therapist, she is also a senior mental health practitioner. Her specialisms are mental health, learning disability and psychological trauma.
Sarah has worked in a variety of psycho-social settings including acute inpatient hospitals, community mental health teams, assessment teams, and in private and charity sectors. She has supported individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, homeless and vulnerably housed, drug and alcohol dependency and individuals with a forensic history. She has also worked closely with individuals with an extensive variety of complex disability and neurological conditions.
Sarah has completed further training to become an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapist. Sarah currently completes private therapy in this role for children and adolescents and has previously completed assessments for medico-legal work in this area.
Sarah works as a case manager with WCM and also works in occupational therapy supporting teams with high work demands and difficulties with recruiting trained staff. Sarah also works as a senior mental health practitioner and recovery coordinator managing a large caseload of individuals with complex mental health issues. Sarah is proficient at managing significant risk and supporting clients holistically towards recovery.
Sarah is able to communicate with clients and carers of all ages and from all walks of life, adapting her approach, where necessary, to ensure individuals feel comfortable and happy in Sarah’s care.
